From that page, it looks like most of the firmware is being moved into separate firmware-foo packages (a model that works for me with my firmware-iwlwifi driver). There has been an update since that page was published; we might be able to get permission to retain ConnectTech WhiteHEAT USB serial adapters (perhaps in a firmware-whiteheat package).
