Hi all, I have a problem with my on-board sound card. I have an Asus A8N-SLI motherboard with on-board nVidia CK804 AC'97 audio controller. When I reboot my computer (Lenny) it is not recognised. I get no sound.
When I run `asoundconf list` I get two choices: HDMI and UART. Neither gives me sound. Then I run `alsaconf` as root and it offers me three soundcards to choose from: hda-intel: ATI Technologies Inc HD48x0 audio intel8x0: nVidia Corporation CK804 AC'97 Audio Controller (rev a2) mpu401: snd-mpu401 Strange, since I have no extra soundcards in this system. Just what's on the motherboard. When I pick the nVidia card and let alsaconf finish configuration I get working sound, but after a reboot the sound is gone again. After I fix my sound with alsaconf, running `asoundconf list` only gives me one option: CK804. It has always worked fine under Etch. Thanks in advance, -- Sander Marechal http://www.jejik.com -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
