We had a recent thread about the reliability of Sid. I just got hit by this 'grave' one:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=515976 This is a bug in libxi6 which causes the system to (partially, at least in my case) ignore the specified keyboard layout and revert to qwerty.
