Some time ago, when lenny was 'testing', I forgot my laptop's root password. This is what I did: 1. Choose 'single user' in grub menu. 2. Select your kernel and press e to edit kernel line before boot. 3. Add 'init=/bin/sh rw' (or something like that) 4. Press b to boot (or enter, don't remember) and change root pass...
