Hi Everyone, I'm using the VLC packages for sid/i386 from debian-multimedia.org.
After upgrading VLC, ffmpeg and their dependencies, I find that videos that VLC previously displayed normally on the default settings display with the width excesssively compressed. The picture width is still too narrow even when I choose a manual setting 2.21:1 aspect ratio. I've tested only a couple different video formats, identified by the 'file' utility as: ISO Media, MPEG v4 system, version 2 MPEG sequence, v2, program multiplex A second issue is that videos that previously displayed in color now display as monochrome only. I just upgraded mplayer, and it plays both formats just fine. Has anyone encountered these issues, or is aware of any configuration choices that might help me? VLC has a number of dependencies. Can anyone guess which package(s) I should investigate to locate if my bug has been filed? For reference, I include mplayer's text output for both file types below. thanks in advance, Joel Playing VTS_01_1.VOB. MPEG-PS file format detected.
