You can install sid directly if you use the business-card image and select 'expert' install. You will be prompted for the distribution to install. Of course, you need some decent connection to complete the install, because the business-card image is to small to hold any packages. Just be careful, when selecting the kernel choose 2.6.29-1-<flavor> directly and not some of the dummy packages pulling the "latest" kernel as they still point to 2.6.26 (which is not available in sid anymore).
