I couldn't find a clear answer on google other than a package called multicore for octave. I was wondering if octave can utilize multiple cores (multithreaded operations) by default (as matlab partially does) or not?

The question is whether it's worth to invest in a quad core for octave or whether it won't be able to utilize it and a dual core is enough.

Thanks
