linux can read FAT32/16, and NTFS. There are also a couple programs that can read linux partitions from windows.... Check out Explore2fs http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm and this one http://sssup1.sssup.it/~pit/reiserfs.html.
