After kernel upgrade (some time ago) vboxdrv failed to load. Reinstalling virtualbox-ose-dkms (after purge!) didn't help either. I had to manually remove modules from /lib/modules/2.6.32-trunk-686/updates/dkms/ (they weren't, removed even on purge, neither were they updated on kernel upgrade).
