Check out network namespaces:
http://lxc.sourceforge.net/network/configuration.php

Put your process(es) in a separate network namespace,
set up virtual networking with macvlan or veth,
retrieve the desired statistics from inside this namespace.

Haven't tried it myself yet, though.
