An answer a little aside your question: if import (VAT, delays, warranty and so on) is too of a hassle for you and openness is not not an absolute requirement, you could take a look at the Toshiba AC100 Android ARM smartbook: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/b2c-toshiba-ac100/ which is available in France (approximately 280 euros).
