Hm, I´m getting pretty much the same when connecting the disk: [127807.610058] usb 2-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 [127807.768237] usb 2-6: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice [127807.768684] scsi11 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices [127807.768916] usb-storage: device found at 5 [127807.768922] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning [127812.760328] usb-storage: device scan complete [127812.767162] scsi 11:0:0:0: Direct-Access SAMSUNG HD154UI 1AG0 PQ: 0 ANSI: 0 [127812.767896] sd 11:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg6 type 0 [127812.770125] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] 2930277168 512-byte logical blocks: (1.50 TB/1.36 TiB) [127812.771516] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Write Protect is off [127812.771526] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Mode Sense: 23 00 00 00 [127812.771533] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Assuming drive cache: write through [127812.772996] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Assuming drive cache: write through [127812.773004] sdf: sdf1 sdf2 sdf3 [127812.791485] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Assuming drive cache: write through [127812.791498] sd 11:0:0:0: [sdf] Attached SCSI disk The internal SATA disks have "Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled". What is this supposed to tell me, where´s the difference? It could be important if there´s a problem with contents of the disks internal cache not being written before I turn it off. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
