I'm attempting to consolidate all my assorted email accounts to be
accessed via Evolution. I seem to have all working right except this
one particular GMail account (the one that I have subscribed to
debian-user in fact).

The problem I am having is that every time I delete messages and empty
trash, next email check brings everything back that was deleted (over
1000 messages, dating back to around 2008.) And to top it off, new
messages are not coming through.

How can I get deleted messages to stay deleted? I logged in to my GMail
account to see what is there, and all that is there are about 100 or so
messages that have not been downloaded. All old messages there were
deleted permanently, so Evolution obviously is not grabbing them from
there.

What is going on here, and how can I fix this? This seems to be the
only account that is doing this.
