While logged on to the new account, or logged in at the console, try deleting or moving the directories ~/.gconf and ~/.gnome* in the old account. You will lose various gnome customisations, but it may also solve the problems you are having, without the need to migrate everything to a new account. > > Thanks, > Juan > > 2010/11/23 Camale=F3n <noela...@gmail.com> > >> On Mon, 22 Nov 2010 21:42:09 +0100, Juan Ignacio Gaudio wrote: >> >> > I'm getting an error message from the gnome-settings-daemon when I log >> > in, and the desktop takes more time than usual to appear. >> >> (...) >> >> > In the .xsession-errors there's a part where to warnings that could be >> > relevant are shown: >> > >> > Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file >> > /home/juan/.metacity/sessions/default0.ms: Failed to open file >> > '/home/juan/.metacity/sessions/default0.ms': No such file or directory >> >> (...) >> >> > There's a bug report that speaks of this but there's no conclusion yet >> > about it: bug #473409: >> > http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=3D473409 >> > >> > >> > Anyone is having the same issue / knows the way to solve it? >> >> Looks like a never-ending bug: >> >> https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D485751 >> >> Still not solved/fixed/closed ;-( >> >> Do you experience the same behaviour while login with another fresh-newly >> created user? >> >> Greetings, >> >> -- >> Camale=F3n >> >> >> -- >> To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org >> with a subject of "unsubscribe".
