It looks like debian-multimedia has xvidcap built against libavdevice52 which has since been replaced by libavdevice53. http://debian-multimedia.org/dists/testing/main/binary-amd64/package/xvidcap.php http://debian-multimedia.org/dists/testing/main/binary-amd64/package/libavdevice53.php If I'm right, only the DMO maintainers can fix this so I've copied that list which I hope is ok. I've used recordmydesktop to save some oreilly webcasts.
