how easy is it to update to kernel 3+ in squeeze?

At the moment, Backports only offers 2.6.39 as the latest version in their repository. Whilst Backports is generally the easiest method, this doesn't stop you from compiling your own kernel or installing a precompiled package from a third party. Liqorix [1] offers precompiled newer kernels which should work fine with Squeeze. *Note*: I haven't tried this myself, but hopefully someone here can vouch.
