I am attempting to install a Sabrent 802.11N PCI wireless adapter card into a fresh wheezy install. I guess I am confused about which firmware and driver to use.
When I do a ifup wlan0 I get the follwing error mesage: phy0 -> rt2800pci_mcu_status: Error - MCU request failed, no response from hardware Here are some relevant info: output of lsmod | grep -i rt rt2800pci 13628 0 rt2800lib 39000 1 rt2800pci crc_ccitt 12331 1 rt2800lib rt2x00pci 12768 1 rt2800pci rt2x00lib 29031 3 rt2800pci,rt2800lib,rt2x00pci mac80211 166120 3 rt2800lib,rt2x00pci,rt2x00lib cfg80211 113073 2 rt2x00lib,mac80211 eeprom_93cx6 12423 1 rt2800pci output of lspci -kv -nn | grep -i ralink 00:0e.0 Network controller [0280]: Ralink corp. I have rt2860.bin loaded in /lib/firmware/ (among others) This is a dual boot system- XP uses the card just fine, Knoppix does as well when booted from live cd (using rt2860sta module). I think I need the rt2860sta driver. I have tried to compile the driver from the ralink website with no success, is there a precompiled binary someplace?
