Mmm... then the auto-completion should be done for the defined mime-types 
but as you mentioned, the autocompletion is not being done also for 
directories, not just OOo filenames... weird :-?

What's the output of "complete -p | grep oocalc"? I get:

sm01@stt008:~/Desktop$ complete -p | grep oocalc
complete -o filenames -d -X '.[^./]*' -F _ooexp_ oocalc
