Hi Erik, 1. When a program (e. g. xmms) doesn't work as expected, start it out of a terminal so that you see its error messages.
2. xmms has different output plugins (options > preferences). With your driver, I think you need the OSS plugin (libOSS.so). Using ALSA, you would need the ALSA plugin.
