I'm not sure if my problem is related to my system's configuration (emulated PPC) or PowerPC in general.
When I try to install a package, I get a message that the file couldn't be found and the URL that was attempted. I can copy the URL and pass it to wget and the file is retrieved -- no problem. If anyone has a clue as to what's wrong I would really appreciate it. I'm investigating using Debian as the OS for an embedded product. The product looks like it will have to have a PowerPC processor based on some other system requirements. I'm trying to get a head start on the software side by using qemu-system-ppc to simulate the system. The following screen capture shows the problem. Note that I was able to use wget to retrieve all the files apt-get claimed were not found.
