I don't know any Linux distribution that makes it hard to install flash player. I suspect that many Linux users simply sopped using it, since e.g. Firefox is able to play many Flash videos, not all from YouTube, but a lot. Porn or other G-rated platforms comparable to YouTube tend not to work, e.g. regarding to commercials. AFAIK Google Chrom can play videos, that Firefox can't play and it's also possible to download flash videos and to watch them using a media player, e.g. search for Firefox plugins. I didn't read all those links myself, it just took some seconds to find them using the Google search engine: http://wiki.debian.org/FlashPlayer http://packages.debian.org/de/squeeze/flashplugin-nonfree http://packages.debian.org/de/squeeze/browser-plugin-gnash http://packages.debian.org/de/sid/mozilla-plugin-gnash https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/index.html?platform=linux#eula "NOTE: Adobe Flash Player 11.2 will be the last version to target Linux as a supported platform. Adobe will continue to provide security backports to Flash Player 11.2 for Linux." - http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ That's why I stopped using flash player a long time ago and I watch flash videos with Firefox. I tested all kinds of videos with Firefox, sure, I can't watch porn videos and even not every YouTube video, but I'm not missing it, as many Linux users I chose Linux, because it's not my interest to make my computer a machine to play proprietary consumer crap. I e.g. don't want to skip commercials, I completely don't want that a video does start with a commercial. However, AFAIK the current version of Flash still does work and usually is easy to install.
