Sorry, I should have phrased that differently: you could copy entire
dierectories within ~/.icedove/profiles/fhvsoiufdhfgei/Mail or similar.
Also, the individual folders on disk are mbox files, maybe you can check
these for corruption? Have you tried "compacting"

in case it's only the index that's corrupted?
