Hi Ralf, No errors in Xorg.0.log, dmesg output and .xsession-errors ar both huge, so I'm hesitant to post them here.
I have tried removing the ATI proprietary driver but it doesn't seem to help. The USB error went away when I unplugged the printer. I'm still stuck !
