I can confirm both kernels on my up-to-date Debian Wheezy 32-bit install
have it enabled.

linux-image-3.2.0-4-486
linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae

I'm pretty sure the only sensible case to disabling it would be in
embedded installs where every kilobyte matters.
