If you like, you can have two forwarding server (for redundancy in case of failure of the primary server). A good way to do that is with the dnsmasq package. It provides both DNS (forwarding if you configure it) and DHCP. Configuration is remarkably easy -- it uses /etc/hosts and /etc/ethers as input. The ISC dhcp server is much more flexible, but (as a consequence) takes a lot of configuring. Dnsmasq is *way* easier.
