I was not thinking in terms of you "forcing" anything on anyone. It the situation with d-i, wifi and no installed DE which brings about the problem. It's worth being aware that your experience in consistency of installation is a consequence of not using wifi. > You can do it in whatever way that makes you happy. I've already said how I generally do an install. In fact, I can get a consistently good experience with wifi and no DE by jumping through a few hoops.
