If you mean LyX then it's WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean) not WYSIWYG, i.e. you get a simple representation of what you are writing (headers, paragraphs, etc.) but for the final form you still need to process the document. Of course, it's slightly :p more intuitive than writing plain LaTeX, even with a specialized editor.
