I'm not sure if this a bug in Debian or a hardware problem so I thought I would ask about it. I'm running Debian stretch (i.e. testing) on an AMD A10-5800k with Radeon HD 7660D built-in. Early in the boot process, the screen goes black and I have to press a key to bring it back. When I do these messages appear:
[ 10.493160] [drm:vce_v1_0_start [radeon]] *ERROR* VCE not responding, trying to reset the ECPU!!! [ 11.503519] [drm:vce_v1_0_start [radeon]] *ERROR* VCE not responding, trying to reset the ECPU!!! The full dmesg is here: https://gist.github.com/Tookmund/df11f66c2b109e1cf37c Someone on askubuntu was having the same problem and people told them not to worry about it http://askubuntu.com/questions/682814/vce-not-responding-trying-to-reset-the-ecpu-presented-at-boot It's no big deal as it does not appear to affect anything, but it only started happening after I upgraded to stretch. Should I report it as a bug against xserver-xorg-video-radeon or is it just a hardware problem that I should ignore? -- Jacob Adams GPG Key: AF6B 1C26 E2D0 A988 432B 94F4 24C0 2B85 B59F E5A9
