Now that AMD's Ryzen CPUs have been released, I'm wondering if they'll be supported by the upcoming Debian Stretch release. I'm a bit concerned as Stretch comes with Kernel 3.9 but Ryzen support was added to 4.10.
Is Debian known to backport hardware support from newer kernel versions? Otherwise a custom or backports kernel would be required from the start. Ryzen CPUs could become quite popular during the lifespan of Debian Strech.
