Hi, I did the mistake of running an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my Debian 8 machine which uses Debian backports in oder to have the OpenJDK 8 package. Now I am stuck by with the OpenJDK 7 from the Debian repo and if I try to install OpenJDK 8 again I get the following error:
$ sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre-headless Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: openjdk-8-jre-headless : Breaks: ca-certificates-java (< 20160321~) but 20140324 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Does anyone have an idea how I can get OpenJDK 8 from backports back? Best, John
