The Apple Partition Map block size is 2048 indeed. Else it could not coexist with the GPT. > Disk /dev/sdc: 62.7GB > Sector size (logical/physical): 2048B/512B > Partition Table: mac > Number Start End Size File system Name Flags > 1 2048B 6143B 4096B Apple This is the Apple Partition Map itself. > 2 3693kB 4119kB 426kB EFI This is APM partition 1. It marks the same range as MBR partition 2 and GPT partition 2. In there is the FAT filesystem with the start programs for EFI. With /sbin/fdisk -l /dev/sdc you would see the MBR partitions.
