I follow this list, and keep an eye on others' reported problems; nothing too specific because they often involve things that will probably not concern my machines (most are old). You're welcome to search the archives of this list https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/ if you like. But with the binary choice you gave, it's clear that netinst should give fewer problems.
