Yep, there is at least one thing rsync looses along the way:

# chattr +i /bin/ping
# rsync -aHAX /bin/ping /tmp
# lsattr /bin/ping
----i--------e--- /bin/ping
# lsattr /tmp/ping
-------------e--- /tmp/ping
