Are the systems identical, or just the configurations? I think you wrote EEEPC. These are obsolete? I read that setterm uses APM for blanking when available. That's obsolete. So I guess what I'm asking is, "Is it worth worrying about if you are able to solve the problem anyway?". Cheers, David.
