Results from "mount" without arguments or the contents of /etc/mtab and /proc/mounts seem indeed not yet shown. The central riddle is how mount(8) can fail to make the filesystem available without visibly reporting an error. A question about "mount -v" and its exit value is pending. Maybe one should also look at dmesg output after such a silent failure. Have a nice day :) Thomas
