Please, is there an automated installation program like that of Red Hat ?
Please take a look at Knoppix, It has automatic hardware detection, debian based, has latest and greatest applications and you can also install it into hard disk with minimal fuss.
I am using it in my desktop for quite some time, and perfectly happy with it.
