1) What is the line in your /etc/fstab that deals with cdrom?
/dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
I think this looks okay. Now what is "ls -l /mnt/cdrom"?
And as a normal user, what does "eject /dev/scd0" give?
