I do some research before buying any product and never failed. It may cost a bit more, but at the end it works without an issue. The last printer I bought was HP 402dn for a little under 200€. The last HP 5L worked for almost 20y. I expect this one to work at least 10 https://www.canonimagedrivers.com/canon-imageprograf-pro-300-driver/ obviously linux support is a myth for that - or can one use the Mac OS X driver for cups?
