>From memory, ~/.xprofile is a GNOME/GDM file. I do not know why the OP thinks it has some importance in Debian's standard X framework. I do not think any DEbian documentation places any emphasis on it. The only files of importance to the framework are ~/.xsession and ~/.xsessionrc. -- Brian.
