if you run the journalctl -f as root you'll see everything and not just for the user. otherwise, yes, agree with you at this point it is a hardware issue. one thing i do like about desktops and make sure of is that there are enough spare USB headers so i can plug in more replaceable ports instead of using the hard soldered ones for things i will plug and unplug often. songbird
