I now have in my hands an MD5 verified update CD, and I'm about to go home and tinker with the new stuff... I made a concerted effort to try and track down any more update images, and that czech was the _only_ site of all those listed at "http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/" that had the file. Many still only had r0, and one had nothing newer than 2.2 (potatoe?). Still at least with your help I now have a working update. Ahhhh, if only I was in a land of broadband (and functional broadband at that). Before anyone mentions it, yes, SA does have ADSL, but at what equates to roughly 90 per month for the _cheapest_ domestic connection it's way beyond 99% of the populations means -- mine included. Plus its dead slow and prone to dropping users, so on service alone isn't worth it... Cheers.
