I actually have a quarterly reminder for myself to review my various systems and take notes on changes. Installed packages, make sure config files are captured in source control, was I running any A/B experiments to see if I like a new font better than the old one, etc. While most of this I do as I go along, I find having a regular true-up is useful to make sure I didn't miss anything. This applies to my computers, phones, car gadgets, kitchen layout, etc. mrc
