directories I can't get rid of

I've a couple od directories in ~/.cache I can't read or get rid of.
find: '/home/mike/.cache/gvfs': Permission denied
find: '/home/mike/.cache/doc': Permission denied
ls, rmdir and unlink also get 'Permission denied' when executed by root.
Suggestions?
