This is not accurate. Turing's first computer (not the "bombes" used
earlier) was one of many efforts worldwide at the same time to build a
digital electronic computer. The Germans had already built one and had it
operational by 1941, they were actually the first.  Designed and built by
Konrad Zuse. His programming language called Plankalkül influenced the
design of the Algol programming language, and was later proven to be
Turing-complete.
