I think my dad still does. I believe some of the first computers he used had mercury delay line memory. He's 90+ now ... and still programs. He got his very first hearing aid about a year ago ... and has quite a bit of fun going in and tinkering around with low level code in it, to be able to further customize it to get it to behave exactly as he likes.
