Hello,

for the past couple of days I have been experiencing an issue with audio
volume control on my Debian system.

When media is playing (for example a YouTube video in Firefox), the volume
control sometimes freezes and does not respond. As soon as I pause the
video, the volume control immediately starts working again.

This behavior is consistent:

   -

media playing → volume control frozen
   -

media paused → volume control works normally

I am not sure whether this is a known bug or a configuration issue.

System details:

   -

   Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 13
   -

   Kernel: 6.18.3+deb14-amd64
   -

   Desktop Environment: KDE Plasma 6.5.4
   -

   KDE Frameworks: 6.20.0
   -

   Qt: 6.9.2
   -

   Graphics Platform: Wayland
   -

   GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics
   -

   Browser: Firefox
   -

   Audio system: PipeWire (PulseAudio compatibility)

Hardware:

   -

   CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7535U
   -

   RAM: 16 GiB
   -

   Laptop: ASUS Zenbook 15 UM3504DA

Has anyone experienced similar behavior or can suggest what to check next?

Thank you,
Harun
