Brilliant - thank you. I was with my friend this afternoon and downloaded the
tarball that he gives to my laptop. It all worked easily & very well. This was
the show blocker on moving her to Linux.

My next step is to loan her a laptop with Linux Mint installed, do a little
teaching and hand holding, so that she can verify that she can do everything
that she needs to do -- then wipe her machine & install Linux

She is running MS Windows 10, complaining that all her techie friends will have
nothing to do with it and tell her to upgrade to Linux.
