You could also use a front end like UFW, Firewalld, Foomuuri to see what
are those are doing and build-up from there.
A FW is not the only tool to secure if you expose services publicly.
With what I've learned on Debian I was able to bring it to RHEL distros
as well
So to me, it's not a question of what to choose. I'd say abuse that
freedom and see what works best for you.
