Ditto that, but if you wonder where it comes from, start up a discussion with RMS sometime. I guarantee you'll be tossing furniture in frustration within hours. The man appears to be impervious to real-world reason.
The problem is that it is too easy to think that the Free Software movement is about socialism because the software is "given freely" when it fact it isn't. There is a cost associated with it, the cost just isn't measured in dollars and cents (or any other currency for that matter). Also if it weren't for the fact that code were so easy to replicate it wouldn't be given freely. The cost is so immaterial that it isn't worth collecting as the act of attempting to quantify the cost let alone collect it is more costly.
