I got a somewhat similar message a few days ago because i had forgotten to uninstall the ac97_codec module. I solved my proplem by adding the following lines to /etc/discover-autoskip.conf skip i810_audio skip ac97_codec What do you get when you write lsmod? Do any of the files in /var/log directory mention the attempt to include ALSA. What do they tell you?
